JAM - Just A Minute

The Literary Society is organizing an event called JAM (Just A Minute) this coming Friday, Nov 27, 2009 at the Conference Hall, Main Campus (6 pm onwards).

The object of the game is for participants to talk "for just a minute" on a given subject, "without repetition, hesitation or deviation". He/She will be given 15 secs to prepare and 45 secs to speak. Within the speech, he/she has to observe the rules without which he/she can be challenged and stopped from speaking by his/her opponents. The last person speaking when the bell goes gets the point.

To speak for the full minute without being challenged is extremely difficult, and meritorious when achieved.

Sample of topics...

"If fishes could fly..."
"If elephants had wings..."
"The glass is half full..." etc etc

TISS International Student's Cultural Festival 2009

The annual TISS International Student's Cultural Festival 2009 will take place at the TISS Convention Centre, Naoroji Campus on November 14, 2009 from 6:30 pm onwards. The preparation for this event has been in full swing with numerous meetings, phone calls and the ubiquitous e-mail.

During this fest, various scrumptious International dishes will be prepared and served, but the details of which are being kept secret, as of all good things are.  Along with this, music (DJ NITE) and fashion shows will be the highlight of the night where the stars will shine down upon TISS and the most happening hub for Mumbai for the night will be where you ought to be.

At a rough estimate, TISS have around 50 international students from around the world and the mix of their music, skills, and culture is believed to be a feast to the eyes, and it is with great fervour that stonger cordial relations will be established in this cultural festival. So, pull up your socks and get ready to face the euphony...!!
